What is Logotherapy?

Find meaning in life with LogotherapyLogotherapy was founded by Viktor Frankl, and is based on the premise that a person is motivated by a “will to meaning,” an inner pull to find meaning in life. In his best-selling book, ‘Man’s Search for Meaning’, he discusses the basic principles of logotherapy which are:

  • Life has meaning under all circumstances, even the most miserable ones.
  • We have freedom to find meaning in what we do, and what we experience, or at least in the stand we take when faced with a situation of unchangeable suffering.
  • Our main motivation in life is our will to find meaning in life.

Free The Human Spirit in You

The human spirit referred to in Logotherapy is defined as that which is uniquely human. According to Frankl, We can discover meaning in life in three different ways:

  • Creating a work or doing a deed
  • Experiencing something or encountering someone
  • The attitude we take toward unavoidable suffering

“Everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of the human freedoms —to choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances.”(Frankl)

Logotherapy can help if you or somebody that you loves suffers from:

  • Depression
  • Trauma-related symptoms
  • Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD)
  • Schizophrenia
  • Anxiety
  • Childhood trauma

Logotherapy can also help terminally-ill patients cope with the nearness of death.
